Faculty panel: ‘Starting Conversations on Israel-Palestine'
Five Skidmore professors will offer distinct scholarly perspectives that aim to deepen our understanding of the situation in Israel, Gaza, and the region from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 29, in Davis Auditorium. Panelists are Saleema Waraich (Art History); Pushkala Prasad (Management and Business, International Affairs); Gregory Spinner (Religious Studies); Sarah Friedland (MDOCS); and Nurcan Atalan-Helicke (Environmental Studies). The event, sponsored by the Office of the President, the Office of the Dean of the Faculty, and the Office of the Dean of Students, is open to Skidmore faculty, staff, and students only.
Research guide on Middle East conflict
An online research guide on the Middle East conflict is now available on the Scribner Library website. This interdisciplinary guide is meant to serve as an introduction to the conflict and jumping off point for research into other aspects of the Middle East. Staff and faculty meetings
The December staff and faculty meetings will take place this Friday, Dec. 1. The staff meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the faculty meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. Additional details will be shared by email.

Campus COVID-19, flu vaccine clinic
Health Services is partnering with Adirondack Health and Wellness to offer updated COVID-19 vaccines and flu shots from 9 a.m. to noon next Thursday, Dec 7. Registration information will be shared with the Skidmore community soon. You will be able to receive an updated COVID-19 vaccine, your flu shot, or both at the clinic.
Winter dance concert
The Department of Dance invites you to its Winter Concert, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1 and 2. The concert will feature work created by our faculty as well as a world premiere piece created by guest choreographer Larry Keigwin. Tickets are available online.
Children’s book drive
The Reading Minds Scribner Seminar is hosting a campus-wide book drive to collect new and good-as-new used children’s books, through Friday, Dec. 1. All books will be donated to the Saratoga Children's Literacy League, which provides free books to the children of Saratoga County.
